Location: Birmingham. AL area
Pay: $83,000 to $113,000 salary + great employee benefits package.
Schedule: 6am – 3pm or 4pm (9 hour days – Mon. Fri)
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager, and supports our Operations in Leeds, AL.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and supervise work arranged by the Maintenance Planner to maintain equipment and meet production requirements.
- Oversee & mentor activities of direct reports to ensure day-to-day & project responsibilities are completed in accordance with plant guidelines /timelines.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all electrical and control systems for medium voltage switchgear, protective relays, power distribution
- Proactively manage health & safety.
- Provide input into the design and implementation of automation engineering projects.
- Provide technical assistance for electricians in the installation and troubleshooting of electrical and control equipment.
- Prioritize expenditures to stay within budget and assist in preparation of capital and operations budgets.
- Ensure that Electrical department tools and equipment are in good working condition and appropriate stocks of consumables are maintained to allow maintenance activities to occur as scheduled.
- Develop the technical skills and overall capability of the workforce.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years electrical repair and maintenance experience in Industrial plant environment
- Knowledge in 480V motor starters and controls
- Knowledge of Medium Voltage (2300V and 4200V) switchgear
- Experienced with medium voltage motor starters
- Experience with industrial plant power distribution systems and protective relay schemes
- Knowledge of NFPA70E arc flash safety requirements and guidelines
- Electrical Technician, Licensed Electrician or equivalent
- 3 or more years of industrial plant setting , staff supervision experience of union and non-union staff
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, schedule and motivate others (6 direct reports)
- Project management skills
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined space, and occasionally lifting to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
