Maintenance Technician(s) Union position

Salary: $23/hour – $26/hour + Overtime

These are union positions

Available shift:

  • 2nd – 4:15pm – 2:45am

Monday-Thursday w/ Fridays and/or Saturdays as needed

This position is responsible for keeping the line running during production hours as well as preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Carries out daily work orders supplied by the Maintenance Manager
  • Performs mechanical and electrical inspection and repairs
  • Fabricates various elements according to drawings and specifications provided by the Maintenance Manager
  • Troubleshoots problems on the Production Line, during and/or after production hours, and makes repairs as required to ensure continued safe operation
  • Makes rounds on the floor to inspect performance of all machinery and make repairs if needed
  • Provides support to all of the technicians for all of the areas if necessary
  • Ensures that all equipment is shut off when the plant is shut down for a long weekend
  • Keeps track of tools used during work hours and return them to proper location when finished.
  • Informs Maintenance manager when maintenance supplies and/or spares need to be ordered.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of troubleshooting and repair experience working as a Maintenance Technician
  • PLC troubleshooting experience  (preferred brand: Fanuc)  – to diagnose PLC inputs/outputs -PLC programming not required
  • Troubleshooting + repair experience with: various conveyors, CNC cutting Tables, Fanuc 5 axis robots, CNC Shape Grinders, tempering furnaces and Industrial blowers ranging from 10 HP up to 300HP.
  • Hands on electrical troubleshooting experience –
    • Includes: LOTO-Lock Out Tag Out, Ability to use electrical testing equipment for diagnosing issues on power circuits and or control circuits ranging from 480V three phase down to 24V AC/DC circuits and related devices like, variable frequency drives, contactors, solid state relays, temperature controllers, control and power switching contactors, all types of sensors used in automation, ability to read/understand electrical drawings – circuit diagrams, ability to run new power and or control circuits-installing-bending conduit and associated wiring.
  • Electrical wiring experience
  • Hands on mechanical troubleshooting experience   –
    • Includes:  Inspecting and diagnosing-repairing deficiencies of mechanical drive systems like chain and sprocket, racks and pinions, timing belts and pneumatically driven actuators. Drive system alignment, motor and or gear box replacement and overhauls, bearing replacement, equipment overhauls for any and all production and or facility related machinery
  • Welding experience (MIG-TIG) a plus
  • General machining with mills and or lathes as needed for repairs
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings, electrical and mechanical schematics and procedure manuals
  • Experienced in working with hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time and have physical requirements to regularly climb ladders and stairs, walking, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting and bending for long periods of time
  • High School Diploma or Trade School Certificate with a minimum of six months of related mechanical/electrical experience
  • Good communication skills – English
