Production Supervisor (Technical)


Location:  Elkhart, IN area

Salary: $70K – $90K salary  + full employee benefits

Shifts:   Monday – Friday day shift (flexible schedule and hours)  and the occasional Saturday during peak season

Hands on supervision of the daily operation of the metal punch press and metal stamping department. This includes management of equipment, tools, dies, die set-ups, production schedules, maintenance, compliance with standard operating practices, procedures, and safety practices. Documentation, compliance, and technical training. This is a hands on role.


  • Oversees and supervises staff on the daily activities required to process the current production jobs. – this is a hands on role
  • Track and manage department output to production schedules.
  • Actively participates as a member of the Operations Team.
  • Configures equipment, calibrate gauge settings and recognize the condition of dies.
  • Ensures equipment, presses, tools, and dies to meet technical requirements and reports inconsistencies and oversees maintenance, repair and replacement as required.
  • Coordinates workflow to ensure optimal use of resources with the lowest labor cost.
  • Trains, coaches, and educates workers in best practices and safety procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with approved production methods and quality standards.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding issues or problems on the job.
  • Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any
    inconsistencies or equipment issues.
  • Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety and
  • Communicates with other shift supervisors on all activities that are taking place
    pertaining to orders.
  • Assigns work, assists in training, evaluates performance and disciplines when necessary.
  • Maintains production floor to meet safety and cleanliness requirements.
  • Troubleshoots problems as they arise.



  • 7+ years of experience working with punch press equipment, tool & dies, hot forming, in a metal and steel fabrication manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced with overseeing a production and maintenance team as well as hands on experience with repair and replacements.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and familiar with safe practices, tools, dies tooling, blueprints and standardized work.
  • Punch press, hot forming, metal press, metal fabrication, +  cold-rolled steel, metals and aluminum experience preferred.
  • Experienced with overseeing a maintenance team as well as hands on experience with repair and replacements.
  • Ability to communicate across many levels of the organization.
  • Possess a problem-solving mindset.
  • Have strong organizational and collaborative team building skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
