Salary: $80K – $105K + up to $15K yearly bonus & full employee benefits
Overview:
Manages the technical aspects of the punch press operations and tool and die equipment. This includes stamping equipment, tooling, dies, die set-ups, and development and compliance with safety, quality, and best practices
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and preventive maintenance on all dies.
- Monitors modifications and calibration of machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, and fixtures.
- Configures equipment, calibrates gauge settings, and recognizes the condition of dies.
- Ensures equipment, presses, tools, and dies meet technical requirements.
- Maintains inventory of die spare parts.
- Troubleshoots dies on production floor to meet safety, quality, and productivity requirements.
- Facilitates evaluation of production problems due to tooling design and/or tool condition. And oversees new tool runoffs.
- Reports inconsistencies and oversees maintenance, repairs, and replacement as required.
- Trains, coaches, and educate workers in best practices and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with approved production methods, quality standards, and best practices.
- Provides feedback to management regarding issues or problems with equipment and dies.
- Prepares and maintains required records of machine and die history and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
- Develops and follows best practices to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and quality effectiveness.
- Communicates with other shift supervisors on all activities that are taking place pertaining to equipment and die issues.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Promotes a positive team environment.
- Troubleshoots problems as they arise.
Qualifications:
- 7 to 10 years of experience working with punch press equipment and dies in a steel fabrication manufacturing environment.
- Must be mechanically inclined and familiar with safe practices, tools, dies tooling, blueprints, and standardized work.
- Ability to read, interpret and work with tool and part drawings.
- Ability to communicate across many levels of the organization.
- Possess a problem-solving mindset.
- Have strong organizational and collaborative team building skills.
- High School diploma or GED preferred. Associate technical mechanical degree or relevant experience strongly desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).
- Must speak English – Spanish is a plus
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings
