Maintenance Technician – 1st shift

Location: north Minneapolis, MN area
Pay: $28 up to $38/hr + Overtime
Schedule: 6am to 2:30pm – Monday – Friday
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of all plant machinery, presses and auxiliary equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastic injection mold machinery and equipment, specifically processing experience, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities
- Repair plastic injection mold machines and auxiliary equipment as needed
- Assist in the installation of all new machinery and removal of old machinery
- Monitor equipment for safe operations
- Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner to minimize down time and maintain machine efficiency
- Machine efficiency and productivity, including mold and machine maintenance
- Perform repairs on building equipment and areas such as air conditioning, heaters, and restrooms
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have hands on experience with plastic injection mold machines / equipment
- Must have extensive knowledge of all aspects of plastic injection molding machinery and processes also building maintenance machinery and processes
- Troubleshoot and repair plastic injection mold machines in a timely manner to maximize equipment OEE
- Perform root cause analysis.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on molding equipment
- Mechanical and processing knowledge of plastic injection molding machines.
- Proficiency in calibrating and detecting issues in molding machines.
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Able to drive a Forklift
- Knowledge of lockout/tag-out process
- Must be able to use: Various maintenance tools including power tools, hand tools, multi-meters, amp probes, fuse puller and electrical testers, saws, torches + welders
- Must have excellent communication skills
