Pay: $28 up to $35/ hourly + Overtime + great employee benefits
Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift opening – your choice
- 2nd shift – 4:00 pm to 12:30 pm M-F and every other Saturday
- or
- 3rd shift – 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, M-F, every other Saturday
Description:
The Production Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment. Performs routine facilities maintenance – reports to our Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative maintenance for production equipment and machinery, auxiliary equipment, climate control equipment, and material handling equipment, including hoists minimizing downtime.
- Carry out corrective maintenance as required, for production equipment and machinery, minimizing downtime.
- Record all actions taken, as required and suggest improvements to avoid recurrence.
- Research and determine what parts are needed for repair and submit requests for purchase.
- Maintain a level of spare parts to be held.
- Requisition replacements for parts used and new parts for new equipment/machines in line with company procedures.
- Assist in the installation of all, new equipment/machinery ensuring that it meets health & safety legislation.
- Assist the Manufacturing Engineers and Technical supervisors in solving technical or quality-related concerns/problems.
- Support facility maintenance and grounds equipment (restrooms, lights, walkways, loading docks, spring and fall maintenance…. Etc.).
- Complete work orders, inputs new work orders as necessary and updates database.
- Organize and prepare for major repairs, this may include offsite coordination with vendors and contractors.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years maintenance & troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues on high-speed production equipment.
- Must have previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- Must have experience troubleshooting low voltage without looking at blueprints (24 DC, 120 & 240 AC)
- Must be able to understand AC and DC drives and experience troubleshooting them
- Must have experience running conduit and pulling wires
- Ability to read, understand blueprints and CAD drawings
- Ability to read and interpret measurements up to a 16th of an inch using a ruler or tape measure
- No physical limitations – ability to handle physical workload, this person will be on their feet for most of their shift
- Must be able to read, write and orally communicate in English
- Candidate should not live more than a 40-minute commute from Crystal Lake IL production facility
- Candidate must have their own tools and bring with on 1st day on the job
- H.S. Diploma or GED
