Electronic Flowmeter Technician – Level II

Pay:  $20 up to $24/ hour  + Overtime &  full employee benefits

Description:

Performs bench testing, evaluation, and repair services on electronic flowmeters. Ensures quality metrics are adhered to. This job typically requires less instruction and supervision than lower level technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairs, rebuilds or overhauls major assemblies of flowmeter equipment / process instrumentation
  • Requisitions equipment and parts.
  • Performs specialized reconditioning work such as installing and flaring Teflon liners; mounting tubes on four jaw chuck for lining with polyurethane; mixing paints, chemicals, and polyurethane for detail work.
  • Capable of the following without supervision: dismantling and reassembling flowmeter equipment; repairing and replacing defective parts; pairing and configuring a variety of industrial flow electronics to sensors; testing to ensure quality metrics achieved.
  • Adheres to Company’s high standards of quality and safety in performing all tasks.
  • Maintains certain shop equipment; identifies problems and performs established corrective action to be taken.
  • Participates in company quality and safety programs/initiatives.
  • Ensures safe and efficient procedures in accomplishing tasks.
  • This level of technician demonstrates an understanding of the working principles of electronic flow meters, particularly electromagnetic and Coriolis.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experienced with bench testing, evaluation, and repair services on electronic flowmeters / process instrumentation
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the working principles of electronic flow meters, particularly electromagnetic and Coriolis meters
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Experienced with electric and pneumatic tools
  • Proficient in soldering and skilled in low voltage wiring.
  • Use of specialty hydraulic rams and presses, worm gear pulling machines, and burners/ovens.
  • Able to work with electric and pneumatic tools such as cutting wheels, power drills, sandblasters, bench grinders, and paint guns.
  • Preference is for technical school or equivalent experience in measurement and repairing eletro-mechanical devices.
  • Demonstrated analytical aptitude
  • Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet applications
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as an active member of a team.
  • Good communication skills
