Location:   North Kingstown, RI area

Pay Range:  $35 up to $42 hourly + Lots of Overtime wages + Paid Travel Time + Employee Benefits package

Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer is a “hands-on” engineering position, working on equipment in North Kingstown, RI area and at customer sites in the US, Canada, Mexico & Germany.  The position requires up to 50% of travel with some weekend work when needed.  Travel time is paid along with an abundance of Overtime opportunities.    Minimum wages 1st year of $108k… with travel & overtime.


Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical assembly using a variety of hand tools and instruments
  • Troubleshoots electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control issues
  • Sets-up and run process lab metrology equipment with minimal direction
  • Designs simple tooling and fixtures as needed for production and test-work
  • Works wells with customer and engineering groups to solve problems on new and existing equipment
  • Installs and integrates new equipment at customer facilities, working independently and with support to resolve issues on site
  • Creates clear, concise spreadsheets for test-work and runoff data sets
  • Basic statistical process control knowledge in order to assess process capability
  • Works wells with customer and engineering groups to solve problems on new and existing equipment
  • Works with the documentation department to write work instructions and required sections of customer manuals in the time frame determined by the documentation department
  • Manages travel expenses to keep machine installation costs to a minimum

 

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred (BS or AS in Mechanical Engineering)  recent grads welcome, company training provided !!
  • Machining and mechanical assembly experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Electrical troubleshooting skill is a plus, not required
  • Familiarity to troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic controls
  • Able to set-up and run lab and production machines is preferred
  • Able to set-up and run process lab metrology equipment
  • Able to design simple tooling and fixtures as needed for production
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written communication)
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to apply strong attention to detail / problem solve
  • Able to speak/write in English (required)  German communications are a huge plus but not required
  • Ability to travel to client sites –40% to 60% around the USA, Mexico & Canada, possibly Germany on occasion. (required)
  • Weekends may be required on a case to case basis
